Artificial intelligence in journalism: foreign experience

This article examined the experience of using artificial intelligence in journalism based on the experience of major foreign media organizations: The New York Times, British Broadcasting Corporation and Reuters. The main purpose of the study is to analyze the introduction of AI into the process of creating news content and impact on the field of journalism. The article discusses such tasks as automating everyday tasks, improving the personalization of news, as well as improving the efficiency of editorial offices. The research methodology has generated content analysis and a survey. As part of the survey, participants compared texts written by AI (ChatGPT) and journalists. The originality, informativeness, constructiveness and accessibility of the language of the materials were evaluated. The results showed that, despite significant advances in the use of AI, readers still prefer materials created by humans due to the depth of analysis and the presence of author's comments. The study revealed the importance of preserving the role of journalists in the production of news content in the context of ethical issues related to the use of artificial intelligence. The practical significance of this study is to provide recommendations on optimizing the implementation of artificial intelligence in the field of journalism.
