the article is devoted to an urgent topic-the use of web analytics capabilities
in the work of online media, the analysis of key indicators of web statistics. Today, journalism has
undergone great changes in the transmission of information and the impact on the consciousness
of the audience. Especially over the past twenty years, the media's relationship with the audience
has changed all over the world. The spread of web-based analytical calculators that allow you to
accurately determine the volume and characteristics of the audience and effectively find topics
and materials of interest, accelerated the transition of the audience to quantitative measurement
and increased the popularity of online publications. The article reveals the positive and negative
trends in the use of web analytics counters in new media and offers online statistics. In the
classroom study, the concept and meaning of the main indicators of the effectiveness of using
web analytics are determined. The article presents indicators for determining the consumers of
the online publication site and examines popular publications in Kazakhstan and their
advantages in using web analytics
