Abstract

The article describes the formation, stages of development, classification of media resources, which
have become an important platform for human activity in the information society. In the typology of media resources, a single, generally accepted classification and model has not yet emerged. However, the criteria of
scientists in the classification of categories related to different works in different fields of media, the results of
the classification are presented.
The article also provides criteria for determining the place and role of agencies in the media market,
typological types. There is clear evidence that the nature of typological features, the factors that determine the
division into typological groups, intra-typological differences can be developed and used in the first version of
the typology of general media resources.
The amount of media used is based on search results in GoogleChrome. The share of areas of use of media
resources is specified in the article as a percentage. The problem of classification of media resources develops
chronologically and is divided into stages, which proves that this platform is of great interest to professionals.
The types of media resources are not limited to emerging platforms in new media, and the influence of traditional
media is huge.
Scientists offer their options based on technological, target, geographical or other principles. Most of the
current classifications are presented by amateur researchers, specialists in the field of IT business. Therefore,
they do not always meet scientific standards. Currently, there is no consensus among professional researchers
on what criteria should be used to classify media resources.
This paper presents an attempt by other authors to create a typology of media resources by analyzing the
features of the classification of media resources.
