Theoretical Foundations and Problems of Media Education

Abstract

The article deals with the problems of media education, in connection with the emergence
and spread of the Internet by the end of the XX century, the scope of the term «media education» in the
field of media has expanded significantly. At the same time, in the General pedagogical science there is no
uniform terminology accepted in all countries of the world defining that what is media education. Scientists
from different countries in different periods have proposed different versions of this term. And given a
brief review of the issues of media education in Kazakhstan, what is media, media education, what is its
main task and the main directions of modern media education
