Abstract

The author focuses on the peculiarities of the choice of the topic of the
television documentary. Theoretical requirements of researchers to the choice of topic and the
practical features of journalists who filmed a documentary are analyzed. The subjective and
general factors influencing the disclosure of the topic of the work are considered. The skill of a
journalist in solving a topic, the influence of a professional level on its disclosure is described. The
influence of the relationship between the journalist and the team in choosing a good topic is
discussed
