The intensification of political conflicts and the growth of tension in several Middle
East and South Asia countries actualize the problem of the growth and control of migration processes,
their impact on the economic indicators of the host states. The article presents results of the research on
theoretical aspects of motivation and goal setting of migrants. It describes Kazakhstani’s algorithm of
return migration and studies levels and forms of information support for kandas’social adaptation from
new and traditional media in Kazakhstan. The article analyzes contexts of such terms as “immigrant”,
“migrant”, “repatriate” in different countries of the world. The authors have made a distinction
between modern interpretations of such concepts as “migrant” and “refugee” using the example of
ethnic Kazakhs and trying to return from unstable Afghanistan. There has been determined a domestic
concept of perception and denotation of the term kandas, its connotation in the media. The authors
identified the most stable signs of the construction of the “civil response” of people of Kazakhstan to
the problem of migration using such methods as comparison, review, content analysis and survey. The authors concluded that the Kazakhstan’s concept of terminological transition from the concept
"oralman" to "kandas" contains a change in the worldview paradigm, the implementation of which is
possible with the assistance of media and communication technologies, based on the categories of
evaluation and avidentiality.
