The Role of Regional Media in the Society

This article examines the role and functions of regional newspapers, magazines,
radio and television that were published in the Soviet times in all regions and are currently published,
as well as the need for a thorough study of history, the way of functioning and the development of
regional journalism. The influence of politics on the formation of regional journalism is analyzed
in the fact, that the functioning and history of the development of television, radio and regional
press are inextricably linked with the spiritual and cultural life of the region. Also, the activities
of the regional press as a means of political struggle in connection with the development of the
Internet and the issue of the work of the media in satisfying the information needs of the regions,
the comprehensive contribution of Kazakhstan to the information and communication space.
The article gives coverage of the economic and social situation in the region is known
to readers from newspapers, as well as information that each district has its own peculiarities,
lifestyle, ideological stereotypes and values, characteristic only of this area. The influence of the
periodical press on the public life and the development of the region, on the creation and accumulation of the economic, political and socio-public capital of the region, the influence on the creation of
interaction, and the functioning of the periodical press as a network of constant communication of
society with social groups and institutions are also deeply studied here. In the organization of a political
dialogue between the authorities and the public, the media have full responsibility while the regional
press have only partial. This article describes the transformation of the media that the regional media
remain a strong and effective channel for political communication, and the media will simultaneously
refer to the political preferences of the head of the press.
