The concept of « Oyan, Kazak!»: in the world information space

Abstract

The article analyzes the work of the Alash public figure and poet Mirzhaqyp Dulatuly «Oyan,
Qazaq!»(Wake up Qazaq) as a phenomenon and its impact on public consciousness. The purpose of the article is
to determine the validity of this statement. First of all, revealing the essence of the concept, the author explores
the need of an assessment of this work as a phenomenon that has affected the national liberation consciousness of
the Kazakh society. This topic has been studied before. However, it requires further research. The author analyzes
the influence of «Oyan, Qazaq» on the consciousness of kindred peoples of the Turkic world and countries.
The article provides information of the impact of the work on Turkish society. The author pays considerable
attention to the opinions of Turkish researchers. In addition, rebuttals are provided to some dubious scholarly
assertions in this context. The article assesses Mirjakyp Dulatula’s work as a social phenomenon, a national idea
associated with the realisation of independence and freedom.
